I thought this intro was put together nicely. Although most of it highlights the taxologist side of me, you may find it interesting to obtain a broader understanding of my journey.

I am excited to announce that Desirai Svetcov has joined the Tax and Treasury Team as Senior Tax Manager, primarily focusing on indirect tax in the Americas. Her mix of tax technology skills coupled with a deep knowledge of tax technical skills will provide us with a terrific resource to Blackhawk as we continue to evaluate and contemplate product expansion globally, as well as integrating our acquisitions.
Desirai joins us from the Tax Technology Division of Ducharme, McMillen, & Associates, Inc., where she was a Senior Manager focused on transforming clients’ indirect tax departments by utilizing best practices, technological advances, and scalability to design future-state, indirect tax operations to increase the accuracy of indirect tax compliance, reduce audit risk and exposure, increase customer and vendor satisfaction, and assist with financial planning. She spent almost four years as a project manager and functional designer for indirect tax software integrations to transaction systems as well as implementations of automation processes by using tools such as robotic process automation tools, analytic process automation tools, and visualization dashboards. Prior to consulting, Desirai was the Team Lead for North American, indirect tax functions at Microsoft Licensing, GP through a business process outsourcing model with Accenture in Reno, NV. During that role, she helped gained efficiencies by implementing her process improvement ideas and assisted with two system integrations. This is where she first gained interest in software solutions. Before joining the sales/use tax space, Desirai spent almost five years focused on federal income tax and auditing in Wyoming, where she is from.
In her personal time, Desirai loves being active, the arts, and learning. She enjoys participating in almost every sport; in recent years, she has become a yoga instructor, she ran a 50K without training, and she cycles and hikes often. In years past, she also spent a lot of time in other sports such as hockey, rugby, golf, rock climbing, and boxing. Desirai enjoys all art forms and sees beauty in most things. She especially loves small-venue live-music, architecture, creative cooking/baking, and visiting art museums. Last, but not least, Desirai is an avid learner. She fills any free moments with reading, ideation, and intellectual conversations. Her recent coursework has been on programming and machine learning. Desirai is now sharing her passions with her daughter, who is eight months old.
